New year, new goals

It's been a nice 2009 in which I joined the Dutch Linux Mint community, experimented with many new - but not always better - distros and ended my professional career as I am now enjoying my first weeks as a retired Navy man.

So what would I like to do in twenty-ten? Well at first I am very happy that finally I don't have to work with MS-Windows anymore and that programming in VB.NET is also a thing of the past. That opens the road to trying out new programming languages, and I think that Python will be the one I'll learn.

Next, I will get my digital photo camera and resume where I stopped more than 35 years ago, where I developed my own B/W pictures in my own darkroom. Now of course it will all be digital meaning that Gimp and UfRaw will be two of the packages I'll dive into.

As the rest of my free-time is mostly uncolored, I'll probable find new ways to color it, but the focus will always be FOSS and GNU/Linux, for me as a working tool and during my 'promotional' demos.
